No time to continue with "Guns, Germs and Steel" today, so I started Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C. Clarke. So far, a large and hollow cylinder 50km wide has been found in space from a system used to detect asteroids dangerously close to Earth.
I'm only 10 pages in, but I'm finding Clarke's prose refreshingly brisk and it reads almost like the voice-over of a documentary. Maybe it will slow down as the plot thickens.
This is my first fiction book using this "book blog" method, so it should lead to less didactic posts.
